Keys, Wallet, Mask…Mask….Mask!

Wear a d*mn mask! Not a chin guard, but a mask that covers your nose and mouth. It is a known fact that it will reduce the spread of this virus. There are various opinions surrounding the use of masks, most places require them. If you don’t want to wear one then simply don’t go. I personal love masks because it creates a useful barrier between my nose and smelly areas. Pack several masks because misplacing your only one will have you missing out.

Get Tested

Know your status, as the slogan says. This virus is very dtrimental, even people who have recovered still have health issues to the attack on their immune system. There are many free testing location across the country for you convenience. There is an antibody test that will determine if you’ve had the virus in the past and a viral test that will determine if you have the virus currently. I know most people who do not have underlying issues may think that they’ll just recover. It is important to keep in mind that is not only about you, but someone who you many come in to contact with who isn’t as fortunate as you are. With that being said, I encourage everyone traveling to get tested before and after their trip.

Social Distance, at all times

As an introvert, this is already my favorite ting to do. I personally do not like crowded areas and avoid being too close to people. Six-feet apart is the recommended distance according to the CDC, meaning if you can notice someone’s hair tracks showing, then you’re too close. Keep in mind that people may not follow the same hygiene routine as you so it is best to avoid contact with people as much as possible. On the bright side, many airlines, hotels, restaurants, and businesses have already implemented social distancing practicing for your safety.

Use less cash

One of the filthiest things on earth is money. Going from hand to hand and never taking a shower, money is germ holder. Take advantage of using and cleaning your cards. Reducing the amount of contact with a person ultimately reduces your risk of spread germs. I rarely carry or use cash, it was never my things since I despise coins. A huge plus when using your credit card are the incentives that you earn. For example, My American Express Platinum card gives me $5 back at every small business I purchase from.

Hygiene

Do you have enough antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, and soap? Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face. You may view this is a basic hygiene routine, however if everyone followed this the world wouldn’t be in the state is in. Be cognizant to stay hydrated and drink a lot of water especially during the summer months.

Travel Insurance

If you’ve never considered travel insurance, now is the time to do so. You are even lucky if you are flying with an airline that offers it for free. Emirates airline is offering free global coverage for Covid-19 health expenses and quarantine costs. They will even pay for your funeral if it comes to that. Now is the time to read all of the fine print as to what the insurance policy includes because they do not cover everything. Since no one saw this coming, people were surprised to know that most policies exclude pandemics or fear of travel. We do not want to waste our money on inadequate policies.

It’s always better to be safe than sorry, there is no reason to be ignorant to an obvious global pandemic. Safe travels!
